The Give Back

Mighty neighbourly of you to pop in. The fact that you're reading this is just the reason our chosen method of giving back is to those who live the true heart of the word "neighbour" daily.

Every year beginning in 2017, as we work to generate profits by offering our skills and gifts those who want it - we'll be divvying out a meaningful percentage of our wins to folks who have gone above and beyond in their everyday life to increase the well-being of others. This could be your brother who rescues animals, to your best friend who has dedicated her years to adopting and raising siblings with trauma issues, to the financially poor neighbour down the street who always seems to be abundant in smiles and warmth for her community.

We have worked so hard to learn how to take financial care of ourselves and our families by building honest company's that truly serve the world. Our first goal is to get our basics taken care of and the company breathing on her own. As soon as we sweep into that chapter we get to give back! Something my husband and I are patiently waiting (not so patiently) to kick off. Two of our most inspiring reasons for choosing to celebrate and serve neighbours are my own brother and sister-in-law, and a lovely young father I used to know. My brother and sister-in-law, before they even ever met - were both avid givers of their time at the animal shelter. They both saved multiple pets from being euthanised by offering these animals a caring forever home. See but it's not just that is it - what makes the magic is the care, the time, and the quality of love and nourishment these animals have and still do receive from them. Since we've been so busy learning how to build ethical companies that can stand the test of time - our sincere desire to share our learning and successes to help those working the front lines of love motivates us to work long days, hold up on holidays, and stay focused on our cause. My husband and I decided we would like to dedicate our charity to celebrate neighbours. As children, we had the grace of experiencing so much freedom and independence. Nowadays it seems neighbours know each other less and less, and children are outside in nature less and less. We remember feeling safe to roam, and each cherish special memories of neighbours that made an impact on our ideas of kindness and generosity.

We truly believe that the more we care for our own neighbours, the more we'll remember the basic goodness in all our hearts, regardless of differences and beliefs.

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of one day helping third world countries by putting an end to suffering and war. Ok well that was dreaming big. As a well-travelled goddess who's seen, heard and witnessed tragic and beautiful things, I realised the best way I could make a difference was by regenerating the true meaning of the word neighbour. A mission my community driven, connection loving husband is no stranger to. We've got all kinds of wonderful entrepreneurs popping up now like us focusing their bottom line on giving back to so many wonderful causes that I can finally settle in and trust that as we each notice more and more goodness in the world -  like all good trends - the caring will grow.

The caring, whether that be adopting a farmyard of animals like my brother, or dedicating your thirties (yes that's me) to learning how to build an ethical healthy company to help increase the stability of our communities, is what people can remember when times get tough, or stress gets high - we can look out our window and realize we are not alone in this experience of life. Together, as neighbours, we can. Plus if I do say so myself, if we can, we might as well increase the joy, celebration and inspiration while we're at it!

As soon as we get the company's breathing on their own, we'll be gladly announcing and sharing stories of how your purchases are changing the world - one neighbor at a time.
